Stunning coral reefs lie off shore at the all inclusive Barcelo Maya Colonial, situated in the sun blessed town of Riviera Maya, Mexico. Xcaret is located 15 kilometers away and the quiet community of Playa del Carmen awaits 25 kilometers from the resort. This recently constructed retreat opened in late 2005 and shares its lush, tropical location with a sister property. An architectural jewel, the colonial style property rests 85 kilometers south of Cancun and Cancun International Airport.
This luxurious resort opens onto approximately two kilometers of gorgeous, white sand beach. On site, live orchestras perform evening concerts at one of the largest theaters in Riviera Maya. Traveling executives appreciate the conference room and four meeting facilities that accommodate up to 850 attendees. Communication needs are met via high speed Internet access, available in public areas. Four on site restaurants offer menu choices that will please any palate. Bali Hai serves tempting Asian cuisine while Mare Nostrum specializes in Mediterranean prepared seafood dishes. The resort also offers buffet dining or snacks at Mariachi's. Additional resort amenities include a fitness facility, massage services, spa tubs, a scuba diving shop, three swimming pools with a protected children's area, tennis courts and multiple ocean sport activities.
All 420 guestrooms and 54 suites are airy and open with brightly hued color schemes. Accommodations feature minibars, complimentary bottled water, plush bathrobes, desks, and balconies or patios. Dial up Internet access is available for an additional charge. Suites boast more square footage, sitting areas and sofa beds.
