The 26 story Westin Shanghai is a new international hotel in the metropolitan city of Shanghai, China, providing dining, conference, entertainment, spa and recreation facilities, surrounded by European architecture from the 1920s and 1930s. The Westin Shanghai's location ensures that guests are near business, shopping, sightseeing and entertainment districts, including the Bund, the famous riverfront promenade of European buildings and tree lined paths ideal for strolling or jogging.
At the Westin Shanghai, guests are greeted by a glass staircase, with fiber optic lighting that changes colors every few seconds, and a huge skylight through which natural light floods the surroundings. Guests can relax beneath 40 foot palm trees, while families enjoy traditional afternoon tea.
The Westin Shanghai offers 24 hour room service and numerous on site restaurants and bars such as The Stage, Prego Italian Restaurant and Bliss Bar, featuring a variety of cuisines and cocktails.
Guests can also discover a 66 foot indoor pool with underwater music, fitness facility, 15,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, and a 24 hour business center. The Banyan Tree Spa offers traditional Chinese treatments, and children can have fun at the Westin Kids Club.
This Shanghai hotel features 301 contemporary guestrooms and suites with custom Westin Heavenly Beds, bedside control panels, high speed Internet access, cable television, safes, minibars, coffeemakers, rainforest showers, bathrobes and slippers.

New rail connection between Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Shanghai city centre via Metro Line No. 2.
The new Maglev Demonstration Line, one of the fastest trains in the world, now connects Pudong International Airport (PVG) to Longyang Station on Line No. 2 of the Shanghai Metro. Once at Longyang Road, Metro Line No. 2 can be taken to major destinations in both Pudong New Area and throughout Puxi, or the area west of the Huangpu River that includes Shanghai city centre.
Construction is currently underway for Merto Line No. 2 to reach Hongqiao Airport (SHA), which is used primarily for domestic flights. This new convenience, set to open in 2006, will mean that a traveler that lands from an international flight at PVG will be able to connect to a domestic flight at Hongqiao using an all rail journey with a single transfer at Longyang Road Station.

Taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced. The metro system is also a good choice for exploring the city the nearest station is three blocks away.
